Summer semester: 01.01. to 28.02. of the year
Winter semester: 01.06. to 31.07. of the year

You can find the latest information on payment on the Student Service Center website.

Note:

The new student ID cards will be sent to the address given at the university about 4 weeks before the start of the semester. It may therefore be necessary to change your address! This is possible due to the QIS. Certificates of enrollment, etc. can also be downloaded from QIS. If the certificates are required in English, the language must first be changed in the top right-hand corner. The access data for the QIS will be sent together with the first student ID card at the beginning of your studies.

Reimbursement

Can the semester fee be reimbursed?

Yes, but only under certain circumstances and in some cases only in part. Under no circumstances will we transfer back the student union fee. Please contact the Studentenwerk for this.

A full reimbursement is possible in the event of exmatriculation, cancellation of enrollment, holiday semester or incorrect transfer.

A refund of the semester ticket, the university sports fee and the theater card is possible in the following cases:

  • Online degree program (currently only "Master Artificial Intelligence")
  • Disabilities,
    • which make it impossible to use public transport or because of which public transport may already be used free of charge or
    • which make it impossible to use the theater cooperation or university sports

A reimbursement of the semester ticket only is possible in the following cases:

  • a stay of 15 weeks outside the area of validity of the state-wide semester ticket (the purpose of the absence may be student exchange programs, internships, final theses and doctoral dissertations and the practical year in medicine)
  • if the semester ticket fee has already been paid at another university in Schleswig-Holstein.

Reimbursement of the semester ticket can only be made for the local and national semester ticket together. The entire semester ticket will be invalidated. In the case of a paper version, this will be retained by the AStA and properly destroyed; an online ticket will be blocked.

Can the costs also be reimbursed if none of the reasons for reimbursement apply?

If none of the reasons for reimbursement apply, it is possible in special exceptions to submit a hardship application to the student body of the University of Lübeck. In this case, the ticket is still valid and the student body will pay part of the semester fee. A case of hardship exists if the payment of the entire student fee would represent an unreasonable burden according to the circumstances of the individual case. A hardship application can be submitted for the current semester and for the coming semester.

The decision on a hardship application is made by a standing committee of the student parliament. This consists of six elected members who have all signed a confidentiality agreement. The decision on acceptance/rejection and the amount of the exemption/reimbursement is made on the basis of the documents submitted and a personal interview between the applicant and the committee members.

If the hardship application is approved, in contrast to the reasons for reimbursement mentioned above, the respective semester ticket, university sports and theater offers do not expire.

You can find all the necessary applications and the complete hardship regulations at

The deadline for applying for reimbursement is 28 days after the start of the semester, with the exception of incorrect transfers and hardship cases. Documents can be submitted up to eight weeks after the start of the semester. Reimbursements will not be made for previous semesters.

To apply for reimbursement of the semester fee, please use the online form in Moodle or download the form from the download area. You can send this digitally to info@asta.uni-luebeck.de; please send analog applications to:

AStA Universität zu Lübeck
Haus 24
23538 Lübeck

Mrs. Hohnroth is responsible for the processing. If you have any questions, please contact the finance subcommittee: finanzen@asta.uni-luebeck.de. We would like to point out that the processing of applications takes time, as we unfortunately cannot be continuously staffed. Applications received during the semester break will also take longer, as we are on holiday during this time.

Another important addition: If you regularly end your studies in the middle of the semester, you will not be reimbursed for the rest of the semester. This is partly due to the agreements on the semester ticket, and partly because the semester contribution is a solidarity contribution that is only so "cheap" because everyone pays it - even those who unfortunately have less of it.
